Delicious McCormick Peppermint Bars Recipe Review #McCormickBaking #asponsored
McCormick
has been a name in my home for as long as I can remember. I have always
counted on their products for my creations in the kitchen. What better
timing to try out one of their incredible recipes for a family
get-together!
The recipe I chose was for Peppermint Bars.My family has a love of brownies and I can't say no to anything with peppermint!
HINT-
Give yourself plenty of time for this recipe. Its not difficult to make
but you do need to allow cooling time and 30 minutes of refrigeration
time in addition to the preparation.
The
ingredients are simple and most items were already in my pantry. See
below for the recipe as seen on the McCormick website!!
Now
please keep in mind that my brownies aren't as pretty as the picture on
the McCormick website, however, I do feel they probably taste just as
good f not better than if a pro made them!!!

Serves:
Crushed peppermint candies , (optional)
Makes 36 servings.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare brownie mix as directed on package. Spread in greased foil-lined 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
- Bake 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out almost clean. Cool in pan on wire rack.
- Meanwhile, beat confectioners’ sugar, 7 tablespoons of the butter, melted, cream and peppermint extract in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended and smooth. Spread evenly over cooled brownie. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Microwave chocolate and remaining 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter in large microwave bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Spread over top of chilled brownie. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies, if desired. Cut into bars.
I
had my daughter and mom crush up the candy canes. For some reason it
took both of them because they couldn't stop laughing as they did it.
Probably because the candies were going everywhere.
HINT- Put the candy canes in a plastic bag or cover them with a towel to avoid a mess.
Then crush them with a meat tenderizer or other tool capable of easy crushing!!

Serve with tortillas or as a sandwich...your choice!!!!
