Iron Man and Hulk together. When you think about it, it’s a quite strange combination. Iron Man is zap-zap tech, but Hulk is BOOM, BOOM, and BOOM! “Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United” is a unique movie all Marvel fans will adore.
This move has a lot to offer - comedy, thrilling scenes, adventure, suspense, action and, of course, super heroes.
The great story begins when Hulk is captured and well, he saves himself. Sadly, a new villain has risen and Hulk and Iron Man must work together to stop him. If you want to find out how they accomplish this you must watch the film.
As for the animation, it seems a bit outdated, but still great. It was amazing to see how producers were able to bring characters to life. The idea of the story is brilliant and the script has a bunch of action scenes. It could probably use a bit more interaction between main characters, but otherwise the story kept me at edge of my seat. The voice actors are excellent.
My favorite scene is when Hulk and Iron Man first meet. They get into a fight and Hulk wins. This is the first scene with both of them and it’s very funny.
This movie has a bit of action so I recommend it for ages 10 to 18. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the few minor items. Definitely, this is a film that is worth watching.

This is a very clever remake of 1947 movie and will satisfy all your expectations from a good story line to a great cast. I mean, how you can not appreciate the genius of Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig.
This movie has so many positive things to like. It has some comedy, a few pretty cool action scenes, romance and adventures. But, if you are expecting the usual funny and light Ben Stiller movie – this is not it. This film is full of mixed emotions, unfulfilled desires and is a bit philosophical.
The adventure begins with showing a guy that has been working for the same magazine for many years and dreams about traveling and experiencing different adventures. He even sometimes daydreams about being a hero or a worldly traveler. This man is Walter Mitty. He also finds a girl of his dreams and desperately tries to impress her. Then, something unexpected happens causing him to leave his comfortable life to try to save his job, his new friendship and his reputation.
My favorite scene is when Walter is traveling by foot in Afghanistan and gets a pass to a specific area of the mountains by offering local guards his mother’s cake. I just think that was the most heartfelt scene in the movie and showed how a mother’s love is truly international even when it comes in a shape of a cake.
The movie is done well. I expected it to have a bit more action scenes but there are very few. Nevertheless, all exciting moments in the film are done so well and the graphics are amazing. Since Walter Mitty demonstrates amazing talent on a skate board, I predict that sales of skate boards after the movie comes out will go up.
This movie is a bit mature and may not be too interesting for younger kids. Therefore, I recommend it for ages 10 to 8. I also easily give it 4 out of 5 stars

"Saving Mr. Banks" Reveals the Drama Behind the Making of the Film "Mary Poppins"

Disney's beloved film, "Mary Poppins" has quite a dramatic behind the scenes story that is told in this film. We get an inside look at how author P. L. Travers reflects on her difficult childhood while meeting with filmmaker Walt Disney during production for the adaptation of her novel, Mary Poppins. And, it is an interesting turn of events that eventually wins Ms. Travers over. As KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Keefer B (age 13) says, "We learn it's going to take Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) a lot of hard work to get Ms. Travers to share our favorite flying nanny, 'Marry Poppins.'” Keefer's full review is below.

This is a deeply emotional and inspiring untold story of “Mary Poppins.” The premise is based on the true journey of  Pamela L. Travers (Emma Thompson), the author of  the book. We learn it's going to take Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) a lot of hard work to get Ms. Travers to share our favorite flying nanny, Mary Poppins.

This film is totally character driven. Tom Hanks is the first actor to portray Walt in a mainstream film.  Tom trained for this by visiting “The Walt Disney Family Museum” and talking with Disney's former employees including his daughter Diane Disney Miller. Tom is Walt!  He captures the dream, drive, and love for life that Walt believed in and you buy every word he says. They also respect Walt's wishes of never showing him with a lit cigarette. Of course, any leading man has a leading lady and we have a phenomenal portrayal of Ms. Travers by Emma Thompson. Emma trained, like Tom, by listening to the recording of the script read-through and practicing the way Pamela spoke. What adds up is a fantastic performance. You feel her emotion and why she is a stick-in-the-mud. This film's cinematography is spot on. It takes place over time from 1906, with vintage clothing and horse carts, to1961, with old cars and urban settings. The way they shift from time period to time period is flawless.

My favorite scene is when Mrs. Travers observes the film for the first time. You see all of the emotional scarring that she has kept inside her whole life, come out. I can say that Emma's performs this amazingly well.

Honestly, it's hard to pick my favorite character. Surprisingly I choose Ralph (Paul Giamatti), Mrs. Travers' chauffeur. He's the first person who Pamela likes and once you see this film you'll understand how big of an achievement that is. Paul's warm and humble performance has an affect on me that is unexplainable.

The moral of the story is, don't let the past rule your present. Pamela has a hard time giving “Mary Poppins” up and, with her sad childhood, you can see why. However, she needs to understand that it's time to let it all go.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to12-18 year olds. This film is little more emotionally heavy than the trailer shows. It's a lighthearted film, but sensitive kids may have difficulty with some scenes. This is playing in theaters now.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Rings True to the Book

The second installment from the Tolkien novel, The Hobbit, released recently features the dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, as they continue their quest to reclaim Erebor, their homeland, from Smaug. Bilbo Baggins is in possession of a mysterious and magical ring. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Raven D. has this to say about the film, The stunning 3D visuals really bring the work of Tolkien to life and, I think the darkness of this film fits a lot better with the “Lord of the Rings” series than the first film did." The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug
Reviewed by Raven D., age 16, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic

“The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug” is the second installment of the three part series adapted from the best selling novel by J.R.R. Tolkien. A prequel to the epic trilogy “Lord of the Rings,” “The Hobbit” follows young Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, as he accompanies Gandalf and the Dwarves on a quest to rid their home of the evil dragon Smaug. In “The Desolation of Smaug,” the Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf find themselves not only having to face the evil dragon that destroyed the Dwarf Kingdom, but they also have to deal with the threat of the Orcs, the Elves and the Necromancer. Thorin, the exiled Dwarf King is desperately trying to free his people of the dreaded Smaug, but greed begins to overtake him when he starts to focus his attention on a precious stone that is being guarded by the dragon. Will the Dwarves and Bilbo be triumphant in their epic quest, or will they awaken a power greater and more evil than they could have ever imagined.

I really enjoyed this movie. I wasn’t very impressed by the first Hobbit film that was released in 2012, but “Desolation of Smaug” is incredible. The stunning 3D visuals really bring the work of Tolkien to life and, I think the darkness of this film fits a lot better with the “Lord of the Rings” series than the first film did. I really like the fact that they are making three movies off of the one book because I think if they tried to cram everything into one movie it would be way too much. I love the soundtrack in this film. The film has some really beautiful visuals and they are capture the original feel of the Tolkien series while also throwing in some really fun and upbeat tunes.

My favorite character is Bilbo Baggins because I absolutely adore Martin Freeman. He is such a versatile actor and can play very serious roles while also bringing in playful and comedic qualities. Martin also plays Watson in the BBC series “Sherlock” which is one of my favorite TV shows and I just love everything he’s in. He really embodies the character Bilbo and it’s very interesting to see the way Bilbo changes from the last film. His character development is great and Martin Freeman does a phenomenal job taking on that role.

My favorite scene is when Bilbo encounters Smaug for the first time. The exchange between the two characters is very interesting because Smaug seems very curious about Bilbo and doesn’t immediately attack like you expect and Bilbo does everything he can to distract Smaug by complimenting him and talking circles around him. The whole scene has a lot of suspense but it’s also very playful. I also love the look of Smaug and the CGI for him is incredible. They capture his features in such a wonderful way. You can really tell what he’s feeling by the faces he makes and the very human expressions he has.

I recommend this film for ages 13+ because there is a lot of action, violence and suspenseful situations. I give this film 5 out of 5 stars and it is definitely a must see if you are a fan of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. So be sure to catch “The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug” in a theater near you!

I loved the first Percy Jackson movie and when I heard I was reviewing the sequel I already knew that it would be an epic and thrilling adventure with a perfect mix of suspense and comedy! And I was right. “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” is a fun and mythical adventure everyone will love!
I still did not expect so many surprises in this movie and greatly enjoyed it! The story continues as if it was a day or a week after the first movie which is a good perk as well. Something else that’s very cool is the fact that movie is super close to the actual book!
The adventure begins when Percy (Logan Lerman) is still at camp with his friends, Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) and Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario). Everything is more or less the same. There is a new girl whose name is Clarisse (Leven Rambin). She is the daughter of a human and the god of war. This girl beats the heck out of Percy and is very mean as well. One day there’s a bionic monster outside of the camp, thanks to one of the gods. There is a shield reflecting the bionic nightmare. When the shield is broken, they destroy the machine and Percy discovers that Luke, a villain that tried to over throw the gods, is alive! Annabeth discovers that the tree producing the shield is dying and appears to be poisoned. Annabeth, Percy and not a very happy Grover all go on a quest to receive an artifact that can bring anything dying back to life – The Golden Fleece! Do you believe they can restore the shield and save their camp? You will have to watch the movie to find out!
There is so much to love about this film and maybe only one or two things to dislike. It has comedy, action, adventure, mythical places and items and so much more! One thing I thought was particularly interesting is that Annabeth turns into a blonde in this movie. What is interesting is that in both books Annabeth is a blond, but in the first movie she’s not blond, but brunette! That is really the only thing that confused me. The director, Thor Freudenthal does a fantastic job and so does the cast.
I would have to say my favorite moment in this film is when the gang calls a “taxi” to get them to Florida. The gang is extremely scared of the three drivers wicked driving, and it turns out that the kids don’t have enough money to get to Florida! Uh oh!
I would have to recommend this film to ages 10 to 18. There is very little language or any adult material at all. It may be a little scary for younger ages though. I give this film 5 out of 5 stars because it is simply brilliant.

"Frozen" - Comedy, Romance, Adventure, Suspense, Thrillers, Fantasy and Much More!

Just in time for the holidays and the winter season comes "Frozen," based on the Hans Christian Anderson story The Snow Queen but, with a few twists of its own. Two young princesses face the test of their love when one, plagued by icy powers traps the kingdom in eternal winter. This is a wonderfully animated film from Disney's Animation Studio that delivers a visual extravaganza from beginning to end. It's one to share with your entire family this holiday season. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Keefer B. points out that, "What makes this film amazing is the animation. They have created fantastic visuals. The way the ice and snow glisten and dance is spectacular. I also love the music." Gerry Orz adds, "The movie has so much to love - comedy, romance, adventure, suspense, thrillers, fantasy and so, so much more." See Keefer and Gerry's full reviews below.

This is a beautifully animated, musical, family Disney film. The story is about Princess Elsa (Idina Menzel), who was born with the power to manifest ice and snow, and her sister Anna (Kristen Bell). When Elsa accidentally turns their kingdom into an eternal winter, it is up to Anna to save the day with the help of a reindeer, snowman and a prince or two.

What makes this film amazing is the animation. They have created fantastic visuals. The way the ice and snow glisten and dance is spectacular. I also love the music. The songs that stand out in this film are the beginning song “Frozen Heart,” “Want to Build a Snowman,” and my favorite - “Let it Go.” All of these songs are brilliant. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel do a fantastic job singing and playing these two roles. Voice acting can be tough to pull off because you have to put all your emotion into your voice. Since they succeed, it makes the characters very believable and you can feel for these two sisters.

My favorite character is Elsa. You can feel the pain she's going through. All she wants is to be with her sister but, because of her uncontrollable powers, she doesn't want to hurt her. This is a well written role.

My favorite scene is when Elsa is running away and sings “Let it Go.” Where do I begin? First of all, this is the best animation in the film. We see her use the powers she's been denying. Bravo to the animators in creating this visual enchantment. The song does what songs should do. It tells how the character feels in a musical form and is extraordinary. Add in the wonderful singing from Menzel and you have my favorite scene.

The message of the story is, love conquerors all. Elsa can't control her powers. Whenever she is sad or mad, she creates a blizzard. She finally learns that the love of her sister is all she needs to gain control of her powers.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars and recommend this to kids ages 5 to 13. The younger kids will enjoy the princesses, the princes and the comedy reliefs.  This film opens in theaters on Thanksgiving day.

I expected the movie to be kind of like “Tangled” with a main plot and a long, long quest. Well… I was almost right. “Frozen” is a great movie the whole family should see!

The movie has so much to love - comedy, romance, adventure, suspense, thrillers, fantasy and so, so much more. It also teaches us a valuable lesson of not being afraid to show who we are and put our “powers” to a good use.

The fun starts when two young royal sisters get into an accident. One has a magical power to summon ice. The magical girl hits her little sister, Anna. She lives but, has no memory of the magic and does not see her sister for many years. When Anna finally gets to see her sister, it turns into a tragedy.

The animation is so adorable and fitting for the actors. They play the voices very well. The two sisters, Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) sound so much alike. The other actors, like Josh Gad do fantastic as well. The film flows very nicely too. The graphics and animation look unbelievably real.
My favorite scene is when Elsa (the one with powers) runs away and builds her own ice castle. She is also my favorite character because she tries to protect her sister, but keeps messing up at it. The castle is built very nicely and it shows her true powers of being the “Snow Queen.” I wouldn’t mind living in a castle like that myself, if you know what I mean.

Since the movie is so kind, bright and educational, I recommend it to ages 4-18 and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson Deliver Stunning Performances in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is the most intense and amazing film of the year. Catching Fire is the sequel to the amazing “Hunger Games.” This film shows how Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) are, unfortunately, drawn once again to compete in a special 75th Hunger Games and how they are the reason for the rebellion in all the districts. Katniss has given people in the districts hope from her courage and that is brewing up to be a horrible thing for President Snow.
What I love about this amazing film is the amazing wardrobe, hair and makeup. The incredible Trish Summerville, costume designer for the film, captures the vision perfectly in turning the book into a movie. Hair and makeup are bold and extravagant as well.  I also like how well the cast works together and how well the film turns out overall. I’m a huge fan of the Hunger Games series.
My favorite character is Katniss. There are lots of intriguing characters in this movie but what makes Katniss different are her incredible traits - her intelligence and her creativity are just a few. Katniss knows she needs to make alliances to stay alive and she quickly learns skills from them all. Jennifer Lawrence plays an amazing Katniss Everdeen.
My favorite scene is when Katniss is on Caesar’s talk show and reveals the incredible dress by spinning. The dress transforms from a pure white wedding gown to an incredible black fiery mocking jay dress with wings. It is truly stunning.
This movie will make you cry and laugh. You’ll just love it. I definitely cannot wait for the next one to come out. I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars.
KIDS FIRST! recommends this movie for ages 12 to 18 because of some of the intense scenes of violence and gore, some suggestive attire and profanity.

“Ender’s Game,” adapted from the worldwide best selling book by Orson Scott Card is a must see event. 50 years after an alien race tried to colonize earth and millions of lives were lost, the International Military continue to strengthen their forces in hopes to prevent and eliminate any possibility of future attacks. Young children are enlisted in a program that trains them to fight and learn strategies through intensive studies and video-game like activities. The best of the best are then sent off to boot camp in space to be trained to lead and fight in the military. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is an extremely gifted boy who is recruited by Colonel Gaff (Harrison Ford). Gaff believes that Ender might be the only hope left for the human race and intends to train him to lead the International Military. Will the fate of the entire earth be too much for young Ender to cope with? According to KIDS FIRST! "Ender’s Game"
Reviewed by Raven D., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic, age 16

I am absolutely in love with this film. Not only is it visually breathtaking in IMax, but it has so many emotional layers that touch on an abundance of issues that surface in our society. First off, the cinematography and CGI is absolutely flawless. I love the design of the Space Camp where the recruits are trained. I also think it’s cool that although “Ender’s Game” is very futuristic, they don’t go overboard with the advanced technology which makes it seem as if these could be things we would see in the future. I really like the fact that there is no obvious makeup on the child actors. Since they are only children and are playing children in the film, the makeup artists kept them natural looking and allow their blemishes to be shown which is something you don’t typically see.

This film is so emotionally intense. I honestly was speechless once the film was over. “Ender’s Game” is two hours long and I could have sat in that theater for several hours more. One thing that really stood out to me is that this film touches on the topic of sending children off to war and the detrimental effect it has on their emotions. This is a serious issue in our society today because, even though we aren’t sending 12-year-olds off to war, so many of our troops are fresh out of high school and are in no way ready for what they are about to face. This film shows how the effects of war and violence weigh on the children and how they are broken down and built back up into people lacking empathy and emotional stability. It brings up the issue that, if these kids even come home alive, there isn’t much left of them. Another issue that is prevalent in our culture that is also addressed is the fact that realistic, violent video games are completely desensitizing our generation to the very real issues of violence in our world today. In the movie, the kids are trained by “playing” several different war games - from contact strategies on teams, to video game-like exercises that test their ability to control a space fleet. They are playing these “games” while not being able to fully understand how their actions affect others. I also really enjoyed the fact that so many different cultures are represented in this movie. A lot of times we just see films that are centered around the U.S. and our own customs but, this film really shows how all cultures and ethnic backgrounds are affected.

I like so many characters in this film that it’s hard to pick one favorite. I obviously loved Asa Butterfield's character, Ender, because he does a ridiculously outstanding job of portraying the complexity of his character. Ender goes through extremely rigorous training that pushes him both physically and emotionally and he has to deal with his own issues of being either too empathetic or too quick to violence. I also really love Bonzo, played by Moises Arias, because I think Moses is a fantastic actor and I’ve only ever seen him in more comedic roles. To see him play such an intense role is really powerful. This film also has some other fantastic young actors such as Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Aramis Knight as well as incredible adult actors such as Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley and Viola Davis. Overall this film has an outstanding cast and characters.

I give “Ender’s Game” 5 out of 5 stars because I feel like words can’t describe this film. It made me laugh. It made me cry. It entertained me while also getting me to think about real world issues. I do, however, recommend this film for ages 13 to 18. This film is very intense emotionally and visually. There is quite a bit of violence and even though it isn’t over-the-top gory, it is very realistic. This film left a big impact on me emotionally and younger children may not be able to handle that type of intensity. But, if you are over the age of 13, I strongly recommend it even if you aren’t necessarily into sci-fi or futuristic films. "Ender’s Game” has so many layers that there is something for everyone. So head to your local theater because “Ender’s Game” is showing in Imax and 3D now!

Memory's Door by James L Rubart - Book Review

The prophecy brought them together. But the Wolf has risen, and now their greatest battle begins.
The four members of Warriors Riding have learned to wage war in the supernatural, to send their spirits inside people’s souls, to battle demonic forces, and to bring deep healing to those around them.
But their leader Reece is struggling with the loss of his sight. Brandon is being stalked at his concerts by a man in the shadows. Dana’s career is threatening to bury her. And Marcus questions his sanity as he seems to be slipping in and out of alternate realities.
And now the second part of the prophecy has come true. The Wolf is hunting them and has set his trap. He circles, feeding on his supernatural hate of all they stand for. And he won’t stop until he brings utter destruction to their bodies . . . and their souls.

My Review-

The warriors were brought together by God to fight the Wolf. These four individuals who make up the Warriors have no ideas what the future faces. Yet they train with faith and love. Each Warrior must face personal struggles that could jeopardize the fight. What demons will they face? What peace will they find?
It took me a few chapters to get into this book. Not because I didn't like it, but because I felt a bit confused. I think this was mostly because I didn't read the first in the series before sinking into this one. However, after I understood in on what was happening, I was hooked. I could not put this book down. The Author James Rubart was brilliant in his writings. He made real life faith into the most incredible story. I related with all the characters and the story itself. This book is full of suspense, action, faith, and love!!!! The most important element of this book was it tells a story that I find true in my heart. It is very hard to find writings that match that!!!
This was an incredible book. I will be ordering the first book in this series as soon as I am done with my finals this term!! In addition I will be anxiously awaiting the third book next year!!!!  I highly recommend this book! I do however think that you should read in sequence!! :)

GROOVE KID NATION - RYTHYM BEARS REVIEW

I had the pleasure to review Groove Kid Nations "Rhythm Bears" with my grand kids!!

Presley Age 19 months

About Groove Nation and Rythm Bears

Groove Kid Nation continues its award-winning music education series with a third release Rhythm Bears. Producer Rodney Lee once again recruits top L.A. musicians and heads deep into the woods to create a soulful folk hoedown.

As the title suggests, Rhythm Bears is all about drawing kids into the music with rhythmic call and response games that will have them clapping, stomping, playing percussion, and vocalizing to the beat.

In addition, a band of groovy bears open childrens’ ears to a whole new set of musical instruments including harmonica, fiddle, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, clarinet, kalimba, ukulele, and even didgeridoo. Each song features a new instrument, and the enclosed 10-page booklet features colorful illustrations of each Rhythm Bear.

My Review

This is an incredible CD!! The assortment of music is fun and full of energy that the kids LOVE!!! There are familiar songs as well as those we have never heard before!! Presley danced through the ENTIRE CD!!! He frequently asks to hear it over and over. Every time we go out in the car, the CD is brought with us!!! LOL!!! Presley s favorite song is "Teddy Bears Picnic"

I highly recommend this CD for your toddler!! I will certainly be purchasing other items form Groove Kid Nation!!

Try It Dry - Dry Shampoo Review

Product Description
Summers are full of events, outdoor activities and long weekends. Batiste is a quick and convenient way to give your hair the boost it needs! Batiste banishes oily roots and revitalizes greasy, dull & lifeless hair between washes, without water. Most dry shampoos are made with corn starch - but not Batiste! It's made with rice starch, which is lighter on your hair so it won't weigh it down or leave a heavy residue! It can also be used to add volume to fine hair. Give Batiste a try when you're running late, camping, or just because you want to!

We all get stuck in the rat race of life!! Never enough minutes in the day to accomplish the demands that we face!! We need all the time savers we can get!! Well I have found a GREAT one!!!

Batiste Dry Shampoo is easy to use and works great. I have the type of hair that if I don't wash it on a daily basis it gets oily and unmanageable. With Batiste, I just spray my hair and take my fingers and run it through my hair, then style as usually. I get a fresh feeling and have volume!! IT is just as good as if I have washed without all the time and trouble involved!!! This is definitely a recommended product!!

The Wishing Tree by Marybeth Whalen - Review

Book Description by Author Website

Compelling stand-alone novel with a southern, beach setting sure to appeal to fiction readers.
In The Wishing Tree, Ivy Marshall, a savvy, determined woman, finds out her husband has cheated on her on the same day her sister’s perfect boyfriend proposes on national television. When Ivy’s mother asks her to return to her family’s beach home to plan her sister’s upcoming wedding, she decides to use the excuse to escape from the pain of her circumstances.
When her return to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, brings her face to face with her former fiancé, old feelings rise to the surface and she wonders if there is a future for them. However, her husband has started tweeting his apology to her and doesn’t want to give up on their marriage. As she helps prepare the wishing tree for her sister’s wedding, she must examine her own wishes for the future and decide what love should be.

My View

This seemingly real like situation book was incredible. When you read it, be prepared to be moved!!  This book wasn't just about how Ivy Marshall coped with her husband Elliott's extramarital affair. This book was about forgiveness. It was about family as well as how Ivy found herself and how she needed others to forgive her.  I was deeply touched with this book and found a little of myself in Ivy Marshall.  Marybeth Whalen is an exceptional writer and I would recommend her books to anyone.

THERA°PEARL Back Wrap Review

Product Description

Our generously sized Back Wrap provides fast, penetrating relief for upper, mid or low back pain. It’s perfect for abdominal cramps and muscle tenderness on large areas of the body. The adjustable strap keeps it comfortably in place.

Chill it in the fridge or freezer, or pop it in the microwave. The pack retains its therapeutic temperature for a full 20 minutes, so you can numb the pain with analgesic cold, or let the soothing heat release your knotted muscles.

My Review!

I had the pleasure of reviewing the THERA°PEARL back Wrap!!

I had an interest in the back wrap for a few reasons. One my husband works at a job that is physical labor and always complains of a back ache after a long day on the job. Second, I often get muscular pains from working out regularly. We both took a few turns using the back wrap and both love it. The wrap can be used wither after freezing or heated. Both of us prefer to use it heated but can tell the benefits of using it cold as well.

Final Results! If you have any trouble with aches and pains whether it is from working out or working hard, I recommend that you try either this back wrap or one of the other There Pearl products! You will not be disappointed!!

Dance Socks by The Dancesocks Review

I had the pleasure of reviewing Dance Socks by the Dancesocks!!  I will start off by providing the company description of the product and then will do my version!!

Turn Sneakers into Dance Shoes with The DanceSocks! The DanceSocks were created out of the need to easily twist and turn in sneakers for dance and dance fitness. Sneakers have too much grip on wooden floors putting excess stress on ankles, knees and hips. Now you can dance in any sneaker! Pull the DanceSock over the front of your shoe. Cover more sole to increase glide. Cover less sole for additional grip. Have fun! 2 pairs per pack*

Manufactured by: DanceSocks
Turn Sneakers into Dance Shoes - Now you can dance in any sneaker!
NOT for carpet - NOT for concrete. For smooth surfaces only.
Easily twist and turn in sneakers for dance and dance fitness
For more grip-pull further onto your shoe exposing more toe
These are the best shoes for Zumba and Sh'Bam fitness

Now my review!!!

I honestly DID NOT dance in these dance socks....However....... I did the next best thing. I KICK BOXED. OMG it was incredible!!! At my kick boxing studio we are standing on an a rubber type  mat and are required to twist our legs with every hit and kick to be able to have the most power. Before the dance socks, it was almost impossible because your shoes weren't smooth enough against the floor.
With the Dance Socks, I can twist like no other and throw some mighty strong punches!!!

I highly recommend these shoe covering socks for any of your routines that you need to be able to move around better with your shoes on!!

Ive started something at my Boxing Club and now everybody is interested in getting their own!!!

 BuySeasons.com Costume Review

I had the pleasure of being able to review an infant Batman costume from  BuySeasons.com

The costume I received for review is Batman in size 6 to 12 months. This costume was tried out for my grandson Jonathan. The costume package includes a Batman jumpsuit with attached boot tops, a Batman headpiece (easy on and off with a snap), and a detachable cape. It is available in sizes newborn, infant & toddler.

When I ordered the costume, I expected to receive the normal child costume that was nice but not that great. Kids costumes are hard to find that are durable high quality (unless you make it yourself).
WOW was I impressed!!!! This Batman costume is incredible. First of all the material is extremely soft and durable (not to mention warm)! There will not be any problems with itching, irritation or the child being uncomfortable. Nor will it fall apart anytime soon!!! Even better (as seen in the pictures) there are snaps at the crotch to make diaper changing a cinch. In addition there are snaps at the back to making dressing and undressing simple.

Picture this, you have had a long night of trick or treating with your little one. On the way home the little guy falls asleep in his costume. You don't want to wake him up because you know he will be a cranky. You don't really want to lay him in the bed with a cape on his back...but wait, for this costume all you need to do is remove it since it is attached by easy snaps!!! The costume is definitely comfortable enough to use a pajamas!!!I do believe Johnny wil be waering thse quite often!!

To wrap it up. If you are looking for a QUALITY costume, at an affordable price, then click here to go to to BuySeasons.com  and see the other costumes that are available. The site has many selections for kids, pets and adults in superhero as well as pirates!! I am looking forward to buying some pirate costumes for my other grandchildren for Halloween this year!!!

The UgleePen (Ergonomic Pen) Giveaway and Review

I had the pleasure to review the Great UGLee Pen!! The UGLee Pen is a ergonomic pen specially designed make writing more comfortable. I personally suffer from carpal tunnel so I was very excited to try out how this pen works!!

Here is the company information on the UGLee Pen:
The UGLee Pen is good for everyone who writes (even just a grocery list), and is especially helpful to people who experience pain and discomfort when writing, for example those with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.,. It's also the best writing utensil  for children who are learning to write and are developing fine motor skills, as well as helpful for special-needs children who find holding a pen or pencil properly difficult. And for high-school and college students who have to take copious notes, this pen helps keep hands and fingers from cramping.

My job title is a Legal Secretary. Which means that all day long I bang on a keyboard and then sign numerous documents for court. At times I have to wear a brace to help keep my wrist from hurting so bad.
When I received the UGLee pen I noted the very odd design and gel grip. I really liked how it felt.

I used the UGLee pen for a week at my office and at home. I also let one of my close friends use one for his job to see what he thought as well.
The results were unanimous.

PROS
WE both like the looks of the pen in general
The design of the pen definitely made a difference on our grip and caused less discomfort that a regular pen.
My hands did not ache after signing multiple documents.

CONS
The only con we had and both agreed on was that the quality of the ink cartridge did not match the quality of the pen design.

Overall Do I recommend this pen for everyone? Absolutely. Do I think this pen is beneficial to those who have pain or difficulty with writing? Yes I do!!!
Whats even better? Now you have a chance to win your very own set to try out!!!

One Winner will receive one three pack of pens.US residents only please!!! Deal Lovin Grandma is hosting this giveaway but the sponsor is responsible for prize shipment!

 Meg Moseley's "Gone South" Review

 http://www.randomhouse.com/images/dyn/cover/?source=9780307730800&width=1000

 Author Excerpt

The charm of the South drew her back to her family’s roots. But when the town’s old resentments turn the sweet tea bitter, can Tish find a welcome anywhere?
Leaving frosty Michigan for the Deep South was never a blip in the simple plans Tish McComb imagined for her life, dreams of marriage and family that were dashed five years earlier in a tragic accident. Now an opportunity to buy her great-great-great-grandparents’ Civil War era home beckons Tish to Noble, Alabama, a Southern town in every sense of the word. She wonders if God has given her a new dream—the old house filled with friends, her vintage percolator bubbling on the sideboard.
When Tish discovers that McCombs aren’t welcome in town, she feels like a Yankee behind enemy lines. Only local antiques dealer George Zorbas seems willing to give her a chance. What’s a lonely outcast to do but take in Noble’s resident prodigal, Melanie Hamilton, and hope that the two can find some much needed acceptance in each other.
Problem is, old habits die hard, and Mel is quite set in her destructive ways. With Melanie blocked from going home by her influential father, Tish must try to manage her incorrigible houseguest as she attempts to prove her own worth in a town that seems to have forgotten that every sinner needs God-given mercy, love and forgiveness.

My Review:

When Tish decided to make a bold move south to her ancestors home, she never expected to encounter the obstacles that she was immediate faced with. Job searching, picking up an unexpected responsibility, and learning how sometimes people just don't feel the same about things as you do. Somehow through a few new friends, faith, trust, and keeping her head up high, Tish hurled those obstacles and comes out winning!!!This book shows how much trust and faith can be spread from one person to then next prove to pay off in the end.

Want to get a sneak peak?

.Meg Moseley is a very strong writer. Her story is inspiring and heartfelt. I look forward to reading many more writings by Moseley.

I was luck enough to be able to participate in BzzAgent's Summer Grilling with Kroger's Campaign!! This was a most incredible campaign because it is all about summer time fun!! I don't know about you, but my warm weather fun consist of grilling out and eating good!!!! With Kroger and BzzAgent, that is exactly what I did!!!!

For my review I recieved the following Kroger brand products:

Kroger 100% Ground Beef Burgers-

  • Perfect portions for all your burger creation needs
  • Cooks perfectly from frozen without thawing
  • Available in a variety of lean offerings
  • Located in the freezer aisles of your local Kroger-owned store
  • New look coming soon

Kroger Ripples Potato Chips - (You should also try their sour cream ones)

Kroger Deluxe Rocky Road Ice Cream (oh but the S'mores is tempting too)

NEW! Big K Orange Cream Soda

Kroger Buns (don't forget they have slider buns too!!!)

My results: This is the first time I have ever tried a frozen burger patties. I was a little skeptical. As I started cooking my skepticism stated to fade fast. First of all, I didn't have to spend all that time patting out burgers and making a mess.....I really don't like that job.......Secondly they grilled up quickly and cooked evenly!!!Last but not least, They were delicious!!! We ate them on the Kroger buns that I buttered and grilled also . You can get the buns in whole wheat or regular. I got the regular so my kids didn't complain...lol. We also had plain flavored rippled potato chips that I honestly believe taste better that a certain name brand (we wont mention any names)!!! To wash it all down we had Big K Dr K and Big K Orange Cream Soda!!!! For desert we had the Rocky Road ice cream....OMG it was soo good!! Now I cant wait to try the S'mores flavor!!!!

So as much as I love cooking out, I realized the most incredible thing about the Kroger brand frozen burgers. I came home from work one night very tired. I was the only one that was going to be home and I was hungry but didnt want to spend a lot of time cooking. Then it dawned on me.........I pulled one of the burgers out and threw it in the oven for a very short amount of time, and had myself a very easy great meal!! That made my night so much easier!!!!

Not only did Krogers make meal time quick and easy, it made it enjoyable!!!! Thanks Kroger for all you do!!
Kroger's has an excellent selection of store brand products. I have no doubt that I will continue to choose Kroger brand over big name brands!! In addition their prices are great!!!

I had the pleasure of reviewing the Juppy Baby Walker. Now my original intention was to try it out on my grandson who was to visit this month. Unfortunately, my son is Military and they denied his leave to prepare for deployment. However, I found the next best target. My mom is a nanny for 12 month old twins. My mom is in good health but she is 65 years old and as we all know, our bodies just dont move as well as we get older. I took the Juppy Baby Walker over to her and we tried it out on the twins!!! OMG!!!! This product is INCREDIBLE!! I recommend this to  ANYONE With a child who will be walking soon or who has just begun to walk!!! Wishing of Willows by Katie Ganshert was an amazing book.

First I must compliment Ganshert on her strong writing abilities. I felt as if I was a part of the characters life from the first page.

I have not read many books that were devotional/romance types and was a bit skeptical on how I would feel. Not to say I that my faith isn't strong, I just lacked the experience in such books.

My sketisims is not only gone, but I am going to be more open to reading such books. Especially by Ganshert.

Wishing on Willows was a heart warming story that shared some very personal tragedies that so many people go through, The book shares faith and courage as well as fear. With the help of faith and love, the main characters Robin and Ian (along with their friends and family) saw they can get through life situation that seem to be impossible to get through. Ganshert combined so much real life that you can't help but feel every emotion and come out stronger than ever before!!!

I recommend this book to anyone, especially those who have gone through the loss of a loved one or anyone who has the fear of starting over!!!

BOOK REVIEW

WHEN I FALL IN LOVE

CLINT MOREY

BOOK DESCRIPTION BY AUTHOR:

It must be nice to have the perfect plan for your life.

Amy Prescott is just your ordinary, everyday high school senior — beautiful, brilliant, athletic, able to pick the hunk of her choice, and a scholarship to Harvard nearly in her hands.

Okay, maybe not so ordinary.

She has her life planned out and it’s an exciting, adventurous plan.  She can hardly wait for the next step.
But when she’s forced to care for her grandparents in Montana during Christmas break, Amy finds her orchestrated world is about to snap.   She’s stuck with a cantankerous grandfather who doesn’t want her help, but needs it because of a stroke, a grandmother who is the sweetest thing ever, but suffers from Alzheimer’s, and family members out to protect “their share” of the estate.
Grandpa, a master cello maker who can no longer do his craft, reluctantly shares with Amy the story of his great adventure – how he met and won the heart of his wife in Vietnam.
But Amy has more immediate concerns.  Is her boyfriend dating someone else when she’s not around?  How can she fend off the Montana boy who has taken an interest in her?  And then there’s that Harvard thing.

Amy doesn’t need any of this.
Not now.  Her life is planned.  It’s a perfect plan.

At least it was.

MY REVIEW:

This short story by Clint Morey was a very sweet love story that we all dream of having. The story told of two people who had been married and in love for 40 wonderful years. Grandpa told the story to his loving granddaughter, of how he and the love of his life met in Vietnam. As he told the stories he hoped that his bride would remember from time to time as she suffered from Alzheimer.

I recommend this story for anyone who has a romantic heart. It is a short story and can be read very quickly. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon!!!

 KROGER SPRING DINNER CAMPAIGN REVIEW

made possible by

KROGER and BZZAGENT

I was chosen to do a review of Kroger products by BZZAGENT campaigns.

 Kroger Spring Dinners

The campaign included coupons for my family to try Kroger brand products that included:

Kroger Pork Tenderloin

Kroger cake mix and frosting

Kroger Mashed heat and serve potatoes

Kroger Crescent rolls

My family consist of myself, my husband, and two teenagers (very picky teenagers)!!! Everyone pitched in a little to help create this wonderful meal.

We prepared the pork tenderloin in a crock pot with bbq sauce and cooked on slow for six hours.

In addition to the items above, we also made gravy and mac n cheese!!

The results: OMG this was the best meal we have had in a very long time. The pork tenderloin was moist and tender. The kids ate it like it was going out of style. The mashed potatoes were a huge hit even without the gravy. The cresent rolls were soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. AS far as the cake, well it took us a while to recover from stuffing ourselves with our dinner, but eventually we were able to try it.......It was absolutely amazing!! The yellow cake was moist and delicious, the icing was a perfect chocolate flavor!!!

I will not hesitate to buy Kroger brand products on a regular basis. They exceed expectations and are quite honestly better than name brands I have purchased.

I was lucky enough to be able to try out Garnier Olia Hair color!! My goal was to find the perfect shade and cover up some of those sneaky little greys!!!
I was very pleased with the fact that Garnier Olia has several shades to choose from. I chose the Dark soft mahogany which is most similar to my own hair color.
The instructions were easy to read and understand. Amazingly I didn't make a mess with transferring the contents of one bottle to another before mixing. The applicator was extremely user friendly and there was NO dripping what-so-ever. After I saturated my entire head I waited my thirty minutes patiently with no discomfort. The odor was slightly less than most color treatments I have tried but still had some kick to it.
After my wait time I rinsed out color and used the conditioner which was step 3. My hair felt very conditioned...more than it has in  along time.
After I dried my hair and checked out the final results...I was super pleased. The color was PERFECT!!! My hair had a very soft feel and a great smooth look to it. The best part....NO MORE GRAY!!!!
I have used a great many different hair products to color my hair. My biggest trouble I encountered was failed gray coverage, the feeling of dryness, and a dull look. Garnier Olia out did all the others and covered all the problems!! I am genuinely pleased and they have just won a repeat customer!!!

Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-Firm Review

I was lucky enough to receive a Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-Firm sampler set.

The set included small sample packs of:
1) Volu-Firm Day Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30
2) Volu-Firm Foaming Cleanser
3)  Volu-Firm Eye Renewal Cream
4) Volu-Firm Lifting Serum
5) Volu-Firm Night Time Treatment with Retinol

The following is what Mary Kay says that this repair kit can do:

The TimeWise Repair™ regimen fights the advanced signs of aging, including the two most visible signs of advanced skin aging: loss of skin volume and loss of firmness.
Every product in this advanced age-fighting regimen contains the exclusive Volu-Firm™ Complex, which features plant stem cells, a specialized peptide and a hyaluronic acid booster. TimeWise Repair™ combines extensive research, innovative ingredients and comprehensive testing to deliver the benefits that target the advanced signs of skin aging. Think of it as a new beginning for your skin. Suitable for all skin types.

I decided to do a short review on the results of these products. I have not previously used ANY Mary Kay products, so I am very curious and anxious to try them out.

The sample only contained enough product to use for about three days providing I used it sparingly.

I used the the foaming cleanser once a day for three days. My face felt very refreshed and clean feeling after every use. It took very little to wash my entire face and neck!!!

Before putting on my make up I applied the Eye renewal Cream (only tow days worth), and the Lifting serum, in addition to the Day Cream. My face did seem a bit perkier but not enough to declare any significant change. I did feel like my skin was very soft after application. There were not any noticeable changes around my eyes.

So, end result...would I use again?

Yes. Even though there wasn't a lot of product to sample with, I loved the way my face felt after use. I do believe that it would be worth buying a month supply to see results after a longer period of time.

Fisher Price House Party Review

House Party is a  wonderful site where you can apply to host a party for select products. When you are selected you are sent a host package that includes various things to share chosen by the product company. You are required to invite guest and make your party fun while you introduce the select product!!!!

When you host a party the party pack is free and you are not required to buy or sell anything!!!

I have hosted many House Party's since I have joined House Party! The most recent (and by far the greatest) was a Fisher Price House Party.

My host pack included four of the most incredible age appropriate Fisher Price toys!!! In addition there were wonderful coupons to pass out as well as informational play tips and catalogs!!!

The toys included :
1) Cruise & Groove Ballapalooza
2) Laugh & Learn Apptivity Monkey
3) Stride-to-Ride Puppy
4) Stand-Up Ballcano

I am just going to focus on a review of one of the toys!! The Ballapalooza!!!! I chose this toy out of the four because it was the biggest hit of all!!! The age group of the children that attended the party ranged from 6 months to four years and everyone of the kids loved this toy.
The Ballapalooza has balls that fit perfect in a small hand and can be put on "slides" and roll down a coaster to the end. There is even a "trampoline" that the balls can bounce off of onto the slide area. There is a music function that plays upbeat tunes that the toddlers were dancing too the whole time!!! For the littler ones there is a door that can be opened and closed or the babies can crawl through.

I can not say enough good things about this toy!!!  The toy is age appropriate with the range age group from 6-36 months. It is fun, brightly colored, and a sure winner for your little one!!!!!
